Michael Butts, Board Member
Michael Butts is a partner in the law firm Wood, DeVary, Armstrong & Houska, P.C. He began his legal practice in 2012 serving as an assistant State’s Attorney handling domestic violence cases for Woodford County. He has served on the board for the St. Jude Run/Walk and We Care Half Marathon since 2016, serves as a board member for Shankapotamus, Keg Grove’s not-for-profit organization, and is a member of the Bloomington Rotary Club. He serves on the Bloomington Rotary Club’s Board of Directors and its Foundation Board of Directors. Michael previously served on the City of Bloomington Zoning Board of Appeals.

Michael believes CPN can truly make a positive impact in our community by “raising awareness of the issue of child abuse, dispelling myths regarding child abuse, educating citizens regarding the warning signs, and helping to provide the resources needed for the community to assist children in a time of great need.”
Michael is married to Lauren Butts, a teacher for District 87, and has two sons, Jack and Theo. He was born and raised in Bloomington, Illinois having graduated from Central Catholic High School before attending the University of Illinois for his undergraduate studies, and Southern Illinois University – Carbondale for Law School.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, watching his sons play sports, exercising, playing guitars, and cooking.
